Theth is a wonderful village in northern Albania’s Shkodra region, nearly 70 kilometres far from it. It is surrounded by three mountains Radohima, Sheniku and Papluku reaching the highest point of 2500 meters.
It is considered as one of the most beautiful and special places in the north of Albania. First, it was mentioned as an albanian destination in an American magazine in 1937 and then in 1976 it was pointed as a national park and since then being presented as one of the most wanted and attracted destinations in Albania in touristic fairs.
Apart from the beautiful and wild nature, Theth it is distinguished for the hospitality of inhabitants and a typical architecture of houses made in stone in order to adapt to the harsh winter. It gives you the impression of an isolated village, surrounded by mountains and houses quite far away from each other. But as soon as you are in touch with inhabitants, you could notice easily their hospitality and their eagerness to talk about the early and very old history and traditions of this village. The history speaks itself while you visit the old Church building in the center of the village or the Isolation Tower. As the nature is very wild, the flora and fauna is very much alike, where you could find rare sorts of each one. The wild nature is an unique because you can explore river, mountains, valleys in the same area.
You can’t miss the waterfall with the height of 36 meters, considered as one of the most beautiful attractions in the Balkans and the ‘Blue eye’ waterfall.
