Albania makes a great winter city break destination because of its milder climate than many other European countries.
In this travel article you will find some of the places in Albania that we recommend for you to visit this winter.
- Voskopojë, Korçë
The village of Voskopojë is surrounded by high hills and fern forests. The climate in this village is cool summer and cold winter with snowfall during most of this season. There are also several natural ski slopes here. This village is known for its clean air and the healing power of respiratory diseases. This village can be called a pearl of the Albanian landscape. Voskopojë had 24 churches with frescoes, the most beautiful of which 7 of them exist today. If you are a person who wants to try good traditional food, take walks, do horse riding and visit old surviving churches, we totally recommend it. A good place to stay would be Hotel Pashuta, that features accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking, a bar and a shared lounge at a good price. - National Park of Llogara
Where the Adriatic and the Ionian Seas meet, begins the journey towards the Llogara National Park. The lush forests of pines and oaks are only the beginning of this “mountain of panoramas”, which is beautifully surrounded by numerous mountain ranges and the majestic Ionian Sea. Located only 40 km southeast of Vlora, the Llogara National Park is one of the most visited natural parks in Albania, home to a rich flora and fauna and some of the most exceptional food in the country. Apart from its delicious foods and its cooling/calming effect, the Llogara Pass is simply a spectacular mountainous road, one made for the movies. The road, newly expanded and renovated, is in excellent condition and one of the best in the country. As you continue your journey, you will come to perhaps its most memorable spot where, as if by magic, the pine curtains separate to unveil the Ionian Sea below. This view comes at 1000 m above sea level and is every bit as breath-taking as you can possibly imagine! - Lëpushë, Vermosh
Lëpushë and Vermosh are two of the most beautiful villages in the Albanian Alps, part of the most north administrative unit, Kelmend, Municipality of Malësi e Madhe. The beautiful nature, the hospitality of the people and the delicious local food will make your visit to this area an unforgettable experience. Here you can do some walking, hiking, you can visit the beautiful Selca Waterfall, the church in Vermosh,
